At least for me it is. Originally, we were planning on moving in on the 15th, but lucked out, and were able to move last Sunday. As a result, I’ve gotten almost everything that is in the condo unpacked, At this point, all I have left is about 6 boxes in the garage, and I’ll be bringing those up tonight, to work on them. Anyway, since we were going to move in on the 15th, I decided that I was going to take a 4 day weekend to get settled, and now, I get to take a 4 day weekend to have some fun.

So, basically, the plans for the next four days include:

Getting internet installed
Riff Raff Theater at the Englert
Master’s Yoga Class and Smoothies
Plasma
Cleaning Andy’s House
Heath’s Birthday
Yoga workshop on Sunday
Cavities filled on Monday
Part-time job on Monday

All in all, one of the least busy weekends I’ve had in a long time. :D

So, I’m 23. What did I do last(Friday) night?

Came home from work, walked my dog with my roommates dog, ate dinner, read a few blogs, and passed out. At 8 pm.

I slept through, solidly, until 6:50 this morning. Yikes!

I’ll be the first to admit, I’m terrified of the concept. In it’s first form, we were going to be spending Friday night through Sunday night together. I generally take my weekends to do things like laundry, and doing what I want to do. I do spend some time hanging out with people, but for the most part, I have fun exploring Iowa City, maybe going on a date, and making sure that I’m mentally prepared for the next week.

That being said, girls’ weekend is this weekend. We’re getting together Saturday afternoon(so that I have time to clean out my car, and still take care of the things that I do for money, i.e. plasma and cleaning Andy’s house). Heading out to the Amanas to pick up some fantastic fruity wine, and then back to Roxy’s for girlie movies with girlie food.

I’m looking forward to it, in it’s current version. I really like the fact that I’m still going to get some me time. It’s one thing to have a weekend with the girls out of town–that’s automatically going to be fun, because I don’t have my typical in town duties to take care of.  Either way, it’ll be fun.

While Joomla is a great skill to have, when it comes to blogging, Wordpress is the program that I really prefer, just due to it’s ease of use. So, after months of my Mom
pestering me about how easy it is to setup Wordpress, I’m back.

So, last I blogged, I lived in a little tiny town, commuting an hour into work on a daily basis, and generally hating a lot of things that I was dealing with. I’ve since moved to Iowa City, live with a set of awesome roommates, commute half an hour to work on a bus, and get to hang out with my friends a lot more often, now that I’m not spending all of my time driving.

Yesterday, pending approval, I found out that I’m moving into a different department, at a higher rate of pay, with a group of people that sounds wonderful. I’m actually much more excited about this than I’m coming across in writing–I get to do a lot of original research under the supervision of a great PI, with the possibility of being second or third author on research papers. Additionally, I’m starting with this experiment from the very beginning, which is a completely different way to approach things than I have been previously. Topping off the whole deal? I’m going to PA for a week for training.

I’m pretty excited :D
