So, I’m 23. What did I do last(Friday) night?
Came home from work, walked my dog with my roommates dog, ate dinner, read a few blogs, and passed out. At 8 pm.
I slept through, solidly, until 6:50 this morning. Yikes!

I’ve been doing my best to deal with a lot of stress as of late–relaxation recordings, yoga, taking my dog for walks.
None of this is working. I woke up with back spasms this morning. I can’t figure out why my body is reacting this way–aside from the slight money stress of changing jobs, there is really nothing that I’m worrying about in my life. I’ve dealt with money stress before, and in the long run, I’ll be making a lot more than I currently do. I’ve been working very hard at getting my credit restored back to normal, making sure that my money is all in one place, that is convienent for me, and so on. So really, things shouldn’t be all that bad, right?
According to my back, wrong. Time for more advil.

While Joomla is a great skill to have, when it comes to blogging, Wordpress is the program that I really prefer, just due to it’s ease of use. So, after months of my Mom
pestering me about how easy it is to setup Wordpress, I’m back.
So, last I blogged, I lived in a little tiny town, commuting an hour into work on a daily basis, and generally hating a lot of things that I was dealing with. I’ve since moved to Iowa City, live with a set of awesome roommates, commute half an hour to work on a bus, and get to hang out with my friends a lot more often, now that I’m not spending all of my time driving.
Yesterday, pending approval, I found out that I’m moving into a different department, at a higher rate of pay, with a group of people that sounds wonderful. I’m actually much more excited about this than I’m coming across in writing–I get to do a lot of original research under the supervision of a great PI, with the possibility of being second or third author on research papers. Additionally, I’m starting with this experiment from the very beginning, which is a completely different way to approach things than I have been previously. Topping off the whole deal? I’m going to PA for a week for training.
I’m pretty excited
